“Do you have any plans then?” Since Yu Jiang had prepared in advance, she must have some sort of plan.

“At the moment, I can only rely on the system to gain more resources. After all, this is still the early stage of the alien invasion; it will only get harder from here.”

“Could you tell me the weaknesses of those aliens, and perhaps their previous movements?”

“Sure.”

Yu Jiang then described every alien she had encountered along with their vulnerabilities in detail. Yi Jiang carefully took notes, sometimes asking questions when he didn’t understand something.

“This world is far luckier than the one I came from. At least here, there are people who have awakened talent skills early on. I believe you have already trained them extensively. They can now easily kill the aliens outside.”

“Yes, we are quite fortunate. Miss Jiang, if you need anything in the future, feel free to tell Yi Jiang. He will pass it on to me.”

“Alright. The same goes for you—contact me anytime if you need help. For now, I won’t be leaving this city.”

Before departing, Yu Jiang remembered something.

“Oh, once I unlock the system’s shop, I can exchange items from there. I plan to hand over some of these items to the government. Among them is a talent awakening serum that guarantees a 100% success rate in awakening talent skills. So, the current situation is still relatively optimistic.”

A decrease in the human population is inevitable; all they can do is try their best.

Mu Bai Shen stared long after Yu Jiang’s retreating figure, unable to shake his thoughts. If what she claimed was true, the number of awakened individuals would increase rapidly.

At present, they had discovered too few awakened people—far from enough.

On the way, Yi Jiang inquired about the talent awakening serum.

“Yes, the system shop does have it. But I’m still far from unlocking it; I need many more points. So now, I have to go complete some missions. Goodbye.”

“I’ll come with you. If you get into trouble, I can lend a hand.”

Yu Jiang was a heavyweight figure now; she couldn’t be allowed to fall into danger.

“Thanks for your kindness, but I prefer to go alone.”

Yi Jiang didn’t press further and just asked her to report back safely.

Today’s system missions were simple: kill four aliens to earn 100 points; one point per alien kill.

Following her instincts, Yu Jiang headed in a direction, quickly dispatching any aliens she encountered and extracting their crystal cores.

---

Survivors often begged her to take them to safety, but Yu Jiang refused every time. This world was nowhere safe anymore; to survive, they had to rely on their own skills.

Rescue teams would eventually come, but not yet.

“Don’t come closer! What do you want?”

“Mom, Mom, I’m scared...”

“Let go of my child!”

Not long after Yu Jiang left, she heard voices arguing nearby.

“This kid is a liability. Better to sacrifice her to buy us some time to escape.”

“Exactly. Don’t be selfish. Your child buying us a chance to live is a good deed. You’ll have better luck in your next life.”

Yu Jiang hadn’t expected to witness such a scene—people willing to sacrifice a child just to save themselves.

In the apocalypse, children were the most precious.

“Then why don’t you go? If you died earlier, you could be reborn sooner and wouldn’t have to live in fear in this wasteland.”

Yu Jiang stepped forward, snatching the child from the man and handing her to the tearful woman nearby.

“Nan Nan, it’s alright now. Mommy’s here.”

They sneered at Yu Jiang.

“Who are you? Mind your own business!”

“This is my business now. What are you going to do about it?”

The man was ruthless; seeing Yu Jiang refusing to back down, he angrily lunged to grab her.

“If you don’t want to watch this child become monster food, then take her place.”

Yu Jiang was no pushover. In the blink of an eye, she pressed the dagger at her waist against the man’s neck.

“You’re quite bold, aren’t you?”

The man hadn’t expected her agility or that she carried a sharp dagger. Terrified, he dared not move, fearing one wrong move would end him.

“What do you want? Killing people is illegal! Let me go!”

“Now you care about the law? Too bad—it’s the apocalypse. Who do you think still cares about laws? Ask around—who would dare come to your aid?”

---

The people around saw Yu Jiang’s gaze and immediately took a few steps back.

“I was wrong; I won’t do it again. Please spare me this once!”

Yu Jiang felt it was enough. The alien had finished feeding and was heading their way.

She released the man, then kicked him.

“This is your chance. If I catch you doing this again, I won’t let you off. Get lost!”

“I won’t do it again, I swear!”

Seeing the alien approaching rapidly, they scrambled away, terrified of becoming its next meal.

“Little girl, come with us and leave this place.”

The woman still clutched her child, urging Yu Jiang to flee.

Yu Jiang shook her head.

“You take your child and leave quickly. I have to deal with that thing. You’d better return home; it’s safer there than out here.”

Outside, there were not only dangerous aliens but also treacherous humans.

“You’re going after it?”

“Big sister, are you going to fight the monster?”

“Yes.” Yu Jiang always showed the utmost kindness to children. These little blossoms deserved protection.

She already heard the alien’s footsteps close by.

“Go quickly and take the child with you.”

Turning, Yu Jiang engaged the alien in battle, driving it back to keep it away from the mother and child.

“Thank you. Take care of yourself,” the woman said, then fled with her child.

Once they were gone, Yu Jiang unleashed her full strength against the alien. Repeated kills had made her movements more agile. Though armed only with a dagger, she dispatched the foe swiftly.

When the alien finally fell, Yu Jiang retrieved her spoils and fixed her sharp gaze in a certain direction.

“It’s all over—why don’t you come out now?”
