Chapter Twenty-One: Dislike Being Disturbed
During the signing of the contract, Xu Qingran's heart was in her throat, worried that President Xiao might suddenly appear and make unreasonable demands. Fortunately, the contract was completed smoothly, and President Xiao never showed up. Xu Qingran finally breathed a sigh of relief and hurried away from Hongyu Entertainment as if escaping.
When she returned home and shared the news of her successful collaboration with Hongyu Entertainment, Sun Ling and Xu Qianran were overjoyed. This meant Xu Qingran would remain the president of Qingcheng Beauty and wouldn’t be demoted to a minor supervisor or an ordinary employee.
“It must be thanks to Yichen! I knew he was the most capable. Sis, shouldn’t you invite him out and thank him properly?” Xu Qianran said eagerly. She had always hoped Jiang Yichen would become her brother-in-law and constantly tried to match him with Xu Qingran.
Sun Ling nodded enthusiastically, “That’s right, Qingran, you must thank Yichen. If not for him, our family would really be doomed this time.”
They completely ignored Xiao Chen, who sat nearby.
Xu Qingran felt a strange confusion in her heart. Was it really Jiang Yichen’s doing? But why did He Huan say their President Xiao liked her?
Still, she was too embarrassed to mention it. After a brief hesitation, she said, “Why don’t we all go out for dinner as a family, and invite Jiang Yichen along?”
Regardless of whether Jiang Yichen contributed or not, he had promised to help her, so she certainly owed him gratitude.
Xu Qingran then called Jiang Yichen. After a moment, she said awkwardly, “Um… Jiang Yichen said he wants to treat us to dinner at Tianhai Restaurant.”
She had intended to invite Jiang Yichen herself, but he insisted on hosting them.
Upon hearing this, Xu Qianran exclaimed, “Wow, Tianhai Restaurant? I’ve never been there! I heard it’s a members-only place, and your net worth needs to be over a hundred million to qualify.”
Sun Ling’s eyes lit up as well, and she said without hesitation, “Since Yichen is being so generous, what is there to think about? Let’s get ready and head out soon.”
She cast a cold glance at Xiao Chen. “Xiao Chen, there’s no need for you to go. Stay home.”
Xu Qingran glanced at Xiao Chen and hesitated, “Jiang Yichen said to invite the whole family. I think Xiao Chen should come too.”
Only then did Sun Ling snort and stop objecting.
In truth, Xiao Chen had no real interest in Tianhai Restaurant, but since Xu Qingran personally wanted him to come, he was happy.
Soon, Sun Ling and the others were ready, and the group drove toward Tianhai Restaurant.
Jiang Yichen was waiting for them at the entrance. When he saw Xu Qingran and the others, he hurried forward to greet them.
“Yichen, we really owe you this time. If not for you, Qingran wouldn’t have secured the collaboration with Hongyu Entertainment. And now you’re treating us to dinner here,” Sun Ling looked at Jiang Yichen with the gaze of a mother-in-law eyeing her ideal son-in-law.
Jiang Yichen felt a bit awkward. He hadn’t even contacted Hongyu Entertainment yet—clearly Sun Ling had misunderstood something.
But he didn’t bother correcting her and replied with a smile, “Qingran’s business is my business. This is the least I can do.”
“Come, let’s not stand outside. Let’s go in.”
They all entered Tianhai Restaurant.
“Wow, so this is Tianhai Restaurant? Yichen, have you struck it rich? I heard you need at least a hundred million to qualify for membership here,” Xu Qianran looked around, her face full of curiosity and excitement.
Jiang Yichen smiled, casting a subtle glance at Xiao Chen. “That’s right. I recently made a small fortune and just qualified.”
Upon hearing this, both Sun Ling and Xu Qianran regarded Jiang Yichen with even greater enthusiasm, their admiration deepening. Even Xu Qingran hadn’t realized that Jiang Yichen’s net worth had grown so much.
Just then, a server approached—the same one Xiao Chen had seen the day before. The server recognized Xiao Chen, and his expression shifted slightly.
Before he could greet them, Jiang Yichen spoke, “Take us to a private room.”
“Certainly,” the server replied promptly and led the group straight to the Tian Suite.
Jiang Yichen’s expression changed. He hadn’t booked the Tian Suite—why was the server taking him there?
He knew that a meal in the Tian Suite cost at least a million, enough to make his heart ache.
But since they were already inside, he couldn’t say anything and could only brace himself and sit down, cursing the server inwardly.
“Wow, the Tian Suite! I heard the minimum spend here is a million. Yichen, you really are wealthy!” Xu Qianran’s eyes sparkled.
Jiang Yichen chuckled awkwardly, feeling ever more frustrated.
In fact, he had only borrowed a friend’s membership and intended to spend around ten thousand to treat Sun Ling and the others, hoping to raise his profile in their eyes.
Now, his budget had jumped tenfold!
When the dishes and drinks arrived, Jiang Yichen nearly fainted. He hadn’t ordered anything, yet every dish was among Tianhai Restaurant’s finest.
He was on the verge of tears.
With this meal, a million wouldn’t cover it; it was likely to reach two million. All his liquid assets totaled less than ten million. To spend two million on a single meal—this was far too extravagant.
Meanwhile, Sun Ling and Xu Qianran still believed Jiang Yichen had become truly wealthy and were full of praise for him.
Xiao Chen easily saw through Jiang Yichen’s predicament and found it amusing.
Bang!
Just then, the door to the private room was kicked open.
A group appeared at the entrance, led by a tall, imposing young man. Beside him was the server who had brought them to the suite, hurriedly explaining, “Young Master Zhou, the Tian Suite is already occupied, and—”
“Hmph! I don’t care if it’s occupied. I, Zhou Tian, booked this suite—how dare you give it to someone else?” the tall young man snorted coldly, sweeping his gaze across Jiang Yichen and the others. “You, get out now!”
“Zhou Tian?” Hearing the young man announce himself, Jiang Yichen, Sun Ling, and the others were all shocked.
This was the eldest son of the Zhou family—a figure they couldn’t afford to offend.
At that moment, Xiao Chen frowned slightly and said calmly, “When we dine, we don’t like to be disturbed. Leave.”
