With gentlemanly grace, Lu Yunchen pulled out a chair for Su Tingwan.
“Thank you,” Su Tingwan said as she took her seat.
It’s often said that Lu Yunchen is the epitome of refinement and chivalry, and indeed, his reputation was well earned.
Lu Yunchen sat down.
After placing their orders, neither spoke.
Su Tingwan waited for Lu Yunchen to discuss her work, but instead, he simply kept his gaze fixed on her.
His eyes were warm, never crossing into discomfort.
Yet, being stared at so intently made Su Tingwan somewhat uneasy.
She furrowed her brows slightly and met his eyes with a cool expression.
She wondered if he was playing some kind of game with her.
Could it be that his good name was just a facade and that he was actually a philanderer?
“Do you really not remember me?”
Just as Su Tingwan’s doubts grew, Lu Yunchen’s deep, magnetic voice sounded calmly.
“Huh?”
Su Tingwan blinked in confusion, looking at him.
What did he mean? Did they know each other?
“When will you return my pen?” he asked again.
“What?”
Su Tingwan was utterly baffled, completely lost.
Seeing her genuine confusion, Lu Yunchen’s eyes dimmed slightly.
Back then, Su Tingwan’s heart and mind belonged only to Fu Xicheng.
“It’s nothing. Maybe I mistook you for someone else,” Lu Yunchen said tactfully, ending the topic.
Su Tingwan sat upright, a little embarrassed.
Fortunately, Lu Yunchen quickly moved on to the main point.
“Miss Su, I want to buy your design this time—one million. Is that acceptable?”
“One million?” Su Tingwan’s mouth parted in shock, unable to believe her ears.
“Do you think the price is too low? No worries, we can negotiate—”

“No, no, no!” Su Tingwan hurriedly raised her hand to stop him. “That’s enough, Mr. Lu. I mean… it’s too much.”
“The work that took first place is worth that much. Why wouldn’t yours be?”
Lu Yunchen’s tone was casual, but it was clear he looked down on Cheng Muyan’s work.
He was belittling Cheng Muyan.
Su Tingwan caught on.
Lu Yunchen took out a check and gently slid it toward her.
Su Tingwan stared at the check, hesitating for a moment.
Finally, she picked it up and gave Lu Yunchen a sincere, grateful smile. “Thank you for your appreciation, Mr. Lu.”
Carefully, she placed the check into her bag.
Before zipping it up, she glanced again at the one million figure.
Her eyes reddened.
Her Xixi could now rest in peace.
Fearing she might lose control of her emotions, Su Tingwan stood and greeted Lu Yunchen before heading to the restroom to compose herself.
…
Restroom
Su Tingwan emerged after calming herself.
While washing her hands at the shared sink, a strong hand suddenly wrapped around her waist, pulling her into the adjacent men's restroom.
“Fu Xicheng, are you crazy? Let go of me!”
Su Tingwan’s expression changed instantly.
She was both embarrassed and angry!
The moment she was dragged in, she shut her eyes tightly.
Hadn’t she seen the yellow sign on the door?
*Click*—
The stall door locked. Fu Xicheng roughly pinned Su Tingwan against the door.
“Who gave you permission to have dinner with Lu Yunchen?!”
His breath was hot, his low, magnetic voice filled with icy menace as it whispered by her ear.
His movements were possessive, his eyes betraying an undeniable craving to claim her.
“Fu Xicheng, get this straight. We’re already broken up! There’s no connection between us anymore. What right do you have to control who I dine with?”
Su Tingwan was tense, lowering her voice and looking coldly at Fu Xicheng, her words dripping with scorn.
“Broken up? Did I agree to that? You dared to move on before I said yes? Su Tingwan, do you think I’m dead?”
Fu Xicheng’s gaze was dark and fierce, as if he wanted to consume her whole.

Su Tingwan met Fu Xicheng's eyes squarely.
She knew well that his refusal to accept their breakup wasn’t born of love.
For him, there was only desire, no love.
His dissent stemmed from his belief that he must be the one in control.
Only he could reject her.
Ha.
She sneered silently, mercilessly replying, “Yes, to me, you’ve long been dead…”
Before she could finish the last word, her jaw was seized, and Fu Xicheng bent down to kiss her.
Su Tingwan glared fiercely at him, clenching her teeth.
Fu Xicheng, displeased, bit down hard on her lower lip.
The pain made Su Tingwan gasp sharply.
This gave Fu Xicheng an opening.
He quickly advanced.
Su Tingwan's eyes reddened; in the brief moment he paused to catch his breath, she bit down hard on his lips.
The taste of blood filled their mouths.
Rather than letting go, the pain seemed to excite Fu Xicheng even more. His eyes turned bloodshot as he deepened the kiss.
One kiss nearly suffocated Su Tingwan.
After an unknown length of time, Fu Xicheng finally released her lips.
The kiss had left her breathless and weak.
As soon as he let go, her legs gave way, nearly causing her to collapse.
A strong arm hooked around her waist, pulling her back into his embrace.
Fu Xicheng lowered his gaze to the vulnerable woman in his arms, his eyes rimmed with red, his almond-shaped eyes moist, looking pitiful.
She didn’t realize that when she looked at him like this, it only made him want to torment her more.
Fu Xicheng kissed the corner of her eye, his finger tracing the damp, sticky skin at her waist. His lips pressed against her ear as his hoarse voice murmured, “Behave.”
Su Tingwan lowered her eyelids.
Her eyes were icy cold beneath.
Leaning against the door, she breathed softly.
As she gradually regained her composure, suddenly...
