The hotel owner watched Chen Hao’s actions with a mix of skepticism and disbelief. What kind of institution was Imperial Capital Bank that it would offer twenty-four-hour service to this young man? He had never heard of such a thing. Yet, no matter how he looked at it, this young man didn’t seem to be pretending.

Soon, Chen Hao received a call from Li Qicheng confirming that the transfer was complete. Chen Hao hung up and looked at the hotel owner, smiling. “The transaction is done. Check if you’ve received two billion.”

The owner still found it hard to believe but called his finance department anyway. The finance person confirmed that someone named Chen had transferred two billion.

His hands nearly dropped the phone in shock. Clutching Chen Hao’s hand with excitement, he said, “Thank you, Mr. Chen. I’ve received your transfer of two billion. The Jingzhou Hotel is now yours.”

Everyone in the room was stunned. It turned out it was all true—Chen Hao wasn’t bluffing at all.

Chen Hao’s calm demeanor and powerful backing left everyone present utterly amazed.

Chen Hao looked at Liu Mengjie and asked, “Your name is Liu Mengjie?”

Liu Mengjie replied respectfully, “Yes, boss. I’m Liu Mengjie, the Public Relations Manager of Jingzhou Hotel.”

Chen Hao said, “From now on, you will be the General Manager of Jingzhou Hotel. I don’t have time to manage it myself, so it’s in your hands. Your monthly salary will be two hundred thousand. Your first task is to fire all those arrogant people who look down on others. A hotel is a place of business—harmony brings wealth. Tomorrow, the Jingzhou branch of Imperial Capital Bank will come to coordinate the account opening. You must receive them well.”

After speaking, Chen Hao noticed Liu Mengjie and the others still standing there. He added, “You may leave now. Have the waiters bring the dishes quickly—I’m hungry.”

Only then did Liu Mengjie and the others withdraw.

The waiters began serving the food.

Qian Taijin and Qin Yashu couldn’t even lift their heads, and the others remained silent with bowed heads.

Chen Hao picked up his chopsticks and said, “Dig in.”

Only then did everyone hesitate before picking up their chopsticks.

As the waiter poured the wine, she introduced it, “This bottle of Romanée-Conti costs one million.”

Everyone gasped. They had only heard of one-million-yuan bottles of wine but never seen or tasted one.

Qin Yashu hurried to explain to Chen Hao, “I’m sorry, Chen Hao. What I said before was nonsense from Zhou Shao. I didn’t know the truth. Don’t take it personally.”

Only then did Chen Hao realize that this Zhou Shao, the billion-wealthy son of the Zhou family, really looked down on him and dared to slander his reputation everywhere. He would have to deal with him properly when the chance came.

“A class reunion is supposed to be about rekindling friendships, sharing knowledge and experience, and building mutual support. I didn’t expect it to turn into a vulgar event of fawning, flaunting, and materialism. If it weren’t for Su Yunyu’s invitation, I wouldn’t have come. Don’t invite me to such events again.”

Hearing Chen Hao’s words, everyone was left speechless, heads bowed in fearful silence, avoiding his gaze.

Chen Hao almost laughed. Earlier, everyone mocked and looked down on him, but the moment they learned of his wealth, their attitude shifted to either awe or fear. Why must people be like this?

After finishing the meal, Chen Hao didn’t want to stay a minute longer. He stood and said to Qian Taijin, “Mr. Qian, don’t be so high-profile. Remember, there are always skies beyond skies and people beyond people. The world is vast—far beyond your understanding. You don’t have to eat dirt; just work steadily and be a decent person.”

With that, Chen Hao turned and left. Just as he stepped out of the private room, he saw Liu Mengjie waiting outside.

Seeing Chen Hao, Liu Mengjie respectfully said, “Boss, I’d like to report on some work matters.”

Chen Hao glanced at Liu Mengjie. Even more beautiful and sexy than Zhao Yali, such a charming woman reporting to him was a pleasure indeed.

“Lead the way.”

After a slight bow, Liu Mengjie led the way.

They entered the elevator together.

As the elevator doors closed, Chen Hao’s gaze inadvertently fell on the nape of Liu Mengjie’s neck, where her delicate, fair skin looked exquisite.

Liu Mengjie lowered her head slightly, seemingly gathering her thoughts, but remained silent.

She stood sideways to him, and Chen Hao’s eyes wandered downward. Her collar was raised high, revealing a deep cleavage flanked by towering mounds that seemed to touch the clouds.

Chen Hao quickly withdrew his gaze, silently reminding himself to keep his boundaries.

Yet, the unique feminine scent emanating from Liu Mengjie was intoxicating, stirring his restless mind.

“Ding—”

The elevator stopped.

The doors slowly opened.

Chen Hao steadied himself and followed Liu Mengjie out.

The corridor lighting was soft, casting a gentle glow on Liu Mengjie’s face, making her appear even more radiant and captivating.

The click-clack of high heels echoed down the hall as Liu Mengjie’s shapely hips swayed gracefully with each step, her gait alluring under the light.

Chen Hao felt guilty for looking but found his eyes irresistibly drawn there.

He had never seen such a seductive figure before but still managed to control his thoughts. After all, she was his subordinate, and he had no right to entertain improper feelings.

When they reached a door, Liu Mengjie used a key card to unlock it and gestured politely for Chen Hao to enter first.

Chen Hao stepped inside. With a snap, the room was instantly lit, the warm atmosphere strikingly contrasting with the outside clamor.

Liu Mengjie turned on the lights and closed the door behind them.

Only then did Chen Hao realize it was a presidential suite. Why had Liu Mengjie brought him here? Work reports should be given in the office, not back in a hotel’s presidential suite.

Though puzzled, Chen Hao remained composed. He looked around; the room was luxuriously but tastefully decorated.

“Boss, please sit.”

Liu Mengjie spoke softly as Chen Hao sat on the sofa at her invitation.

She began brewing coffee with elegant movements.

Watching her, Chen Hao couldn’t help but think how charming she was.

Liu Mengjie placed the freshly brewed coffee in front of him and then sat down gently.

Chen Hao stroked the coffee cup, watching the curling steam, feeling a sense of calm wash over him.

Silently, Liu Mengjie sat opposite him, waiting for the right moment to report, her eyes full of seriousness and anticipation.

After taking a sip of coffee, Chen Hao put down the cup and said, “General Manager Liu, what would you like to say?”

“Boss, this presidential suite is reserved especially for you. You can stay here anytime you wish.”

Liu Mengjie’s voice was soft and melodious, making Chen Hao feel very comfortable.

He smiled slightly, a trace of gratitude flickering in his eyes.

Liu Mengjie continued, “I also want to update you on some work matters.”

Chen Hao replied casually, “Go ahead.”

He wasn’t particularly interested in the hotel’s affairs; he secretly hoped Liu Mengjie would soon bring the hotel to ruin.

Liu Mengjie nodded slightly and began detailing her ideas.

“As you said, boss, Jingzhou Hotel has been operating at a loss for a long time. Currently, it’s no longer sustainable. The main problem lies in poor management...”

Chen Hao interrupted, “Tell me your thoughts.”
