Chapter 78: The Corporation’s Predicament
Leaving Wang Gang at the hospital to look after Yu Yang, Yang Fan and Yu Qian returned to the headquarters of Dao Yuan Mansion Catering Group.
After bringing Yang Fan to her office, Yu Qian took out the crystal she had obtained.
“This is the crystal unearthed at the construction site. Take a look—see if it’s what you wanted?” She handed the crystal to Yang Fan.
The moment he saw it, Yang Fan was certain it was a spirit stone. He could sense the fluctuation of spiritual energy—it was unmistakable.
Holding the spirit stone, feeling the energy contained within, Yang Fan was exhilarated. This stone was intact, its spiritual energy dense and rich.
“Though it’s a low-grade spirit stone, for me at my current stage, it’s a rare treasure,” he thought silently.
He was certain there were more spirit stones at the site; if they continued digging, they could unearth even more.
He was eager to go to the construction site and investigate personally. If there was a large deposit of spirit stones, he could use them to rapidly advance his cultivation and leave this world sooner.
“Take me to the site,” Yang Fan said, suppressing his excitement.
Yu Qian didn’t hesitate and immediately led Yang Fan to the construction area.
Although construction had halted, she could still enter freely to check the situation.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the site.
Yu Qian brought Yang Fan to the spot where the spirit stone had been found. “The crystal was discovered right here,” she said.
Yang Fan looked at the large pit, more than ten meters deep, then leapt down.
Yu Qian was startled by his action, her eyes wide as she watched him land steadily.
“Who is this guy? He dares to jump from such a height!” Yu Qian thought in astonishment.
She grew a little anxious—how would Yang Fan get back up? The pit was over ten meters deep and quite wide; climbing out seemed impossible.
But Yang Fan didn’t seem concerned, which meant he was confident he could get out.
Below ground, Yang Fan activated his technique, sensing for spiritual energy fluctuations.
After a period of exploration, he detected the presence of spiritual energy beneath the pit—his heart raced.
He found the tunnel was deep, and to dig further would require excavating at least another hundred meters. It would take considerable time.
There was only one solution: let Dao Yuan Mansion Catering Group resume work, then Yang Fan could come and extract the spirit stones.
Therefore, he had to help Yu Qian resolve the issues at the site.
With this in mind, he activated his technique and jumped back up.
Yu Qian’s mouth hung open in shock as she stared at Yang Fan. “Are you a monster? You can jump up from such a height!”
“I’m just a person, though not an ordinary one—I’m a superhuman,” Yang Fan replied with a smile.
Learning that Yang Fan was a superhuman, Yu Qian was surprised but did not doubt it. Based on his actions, only someone with superpowers could accomplish such feats.
“Does that crystal help your abilities?” she asked, curious.
“In a way, yes,” Yang Fan didn’t conceal the truth.
Yu Qian smiled at his confirmation. “No wonder you wanted the crystal.”
“Let’s not talk about that now. We need to resolve your construction site’s issue first,” Yang Fan said, rubbing his chin. “I can sense more of those crystals underground, but to get them, we need to keep digging.”
Yu Qian’s expression grew gloomy. “The group’s cash flow is tight lately, and someone’s interfering, so work can’t resume. There’s nothing I can do.”
The situation was primarily caused by someone seeking the land and targeting Dao Yuan Mansion Catering Group.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you solve this,” Yang Fan said calmly. “How much funding do you need?”
He still had over a billion yuan at hand and thought he could lend Yu Qian what she needed.
“You can solve it?” Yu Qian looked at Yang Fan in surprise and curiosity. “Who are you, really?”
To fix the problem, they would have to get the mayor of River City on their side—but the mayor was difficult to approach, and persuading him would be no easy task.
“You needn’t worry about my identity. What matters is that I mean you no harm,” Yang Fan replied mildly.
Yu Qian pursed her lips and didn’t press further.
“The main issue is the group’s crisis. Many shareholders want to sell their shares,” Yu Qian said bitterly. “I hold forty percent, the largest among them, but the situation is far from optimistic.”
As Yu Qian explained, Yang Fan understood. Though she held the largest share, it was only forty percent. If the other shareholders sold, the buyer would hold sixty percent and Yu Qian would lose her position in the group.
“How much to acquire the remaining sixty percent?” Yang Fan asked after some thought.
“One and a half billion yuan,” Yu Qian replied.
Hearing the amount, Yang Fan frowned. But after considering, he realized he had eleven hundred million—enough to purchase over fifty percent.
As long as Yu Qian controlled more than half, she would have absolute authority. His funds were sufficient to secure more than fifty percent.
With this, Yang Fan made up his mind.
Just then, Yu Qian’s phone rang.
“You can’t do this! I won’t agree!” Yu Qian’s voice was angry as she spoke into the phone.
She hung up and said to Yang Fan, “There’s something in the group I need to handle—I have to go back.”
“It’s about the shares, isn’t it? I’ll go with you—I can help,” Yang Fan replied.
He’d overheard the call and knew the shareholders intended to sell.
“Alright, come with me,” Yu Qian decided, and together they returned to the group headquarters.
Back at headquarters, Yu Qian led Yang Fan to the conference room.
Inside, ten people were already seated—all shareholders of Dao Yuan Mansion Catering Group.
They had gathered to sell their shares.
Yu Qian entered and took the president’s seat, with Yang Fan standing beside her.
The shareholders eyed the unfamiliar Yang Fan with displeasure.
“Yu Qian, bringing an unrelated person here isn’t proper etiquette,” one shareholder said, glancing at Yang Fan with dissatisfaction.
“Our shareholder meetings are internal affairs. Outsiders shouldn’t be present.”
“That’s right. Get him out. Having a stranger here during our meeting is unacceptable,” two more shareholders chimed in, their tone disgruntled.
“He’s not an outsider, but a shareholder,” Yu Qian replied calmly, glancing at the group. “I’ve sold him one percent of the shares. He has the right to be here.”
The others were momentarily stunned by her response.
Yang Fan said nothing, knowing Yu Qian wanted him to stay.
With no grounds to object, the group allowed him to remain.
“Let’s get down to business and discuss our shares,” a middle-aged man said.
