Chapter Sixty-One: Titanium in High Spirits
After a Terra day of sub-light travel, the "Imperial Truth" and its two transport ships finally arrived above Moers.
"First, we need to deal with the Titan Empire forces on Diana, then proceed to the two main hive cities on Moers to cleanse the cultists within. During this process, the Necron Dynasty beneath Moers could awaken at any moment."
"As for the Necron Dynasty's awakening, the current data shows that its main tomb lies in the wilderness beside Thanatos Hive. The First and Third Companies, along with the Fifth Auxiliary Regiment, will be stationed there, ready to respond to the Necron Dynasty's resurrection."
In the conference room of the "Imperial Truth," Wang Ming was planning the Moers campaign with the Traversers and the mortal auxiliary commanders.
Wang Ming reiterated the previously devised deployments to everyone present. The First and Third Companies of Traversers would be stationed with the Fifth Auxiliary Regiment east of Thanatos Hive, prepared to confront the Necron Dynasty's resurgence on the Stone Wasteland.
The Second Company, led by Hu Jin, would head to the greenfields west of West Sufus to eliminate the Ork beastmen.
The mortal auxiliary regiments of the "Star Traversers" would split into two groups, heading to the hive cities to support the "Moers Guard," who had been embroiled in a grueling war against the cultists for nearly a Terra year.
These auxiliaries, whether stationed with the First and Third Companies or supporting the hive cities, were former Stellar Domain Army units, forcibly conscripted under Wang Ming’s title as the Imperial "Protector of the Realm." Their combat prowess was unquestionable.
As for the Titan Empire forces entrenched on Diana, Wang Ming intended to use them for training.
He would lead the Fourth and Fifth Companies of Traversers, along with newly recruited soldiers and some veteran Stellar Domain troops, to engage the Titans in a "friendly exchange."
With the meeting concluded, the Traversers and auxiliaries assigned their tasks departed for their respective ships’ hangars, preparing to head to their designated battlefields.
Aboard a transport heading to Diana, a former Stellar Domain soldier was briefing new recruits about battlefield precautions.
"Are you afraid? Your first battle," Raul addressed the recruits in the transport.
It was their first engagement, and their nervousness was obvious; one even recited the "Imperial Words of Truth," praying for the Emperor’s blessing in the coming fight.
"Not afraid!"
The recruits replied to their squad leader, some genuinely fearless, others with trembling voices.
Raul chuckled at the uneven responses. "Don’t be afraid. Listen, the Angels and that revered figure will fight alongside us. This is the highest honor," he told them.
To the mortals of the Empire, a living Primarch was a child of the gods, an embodiment of the Emperor’s divinity. Fighting under the witness of a god’s progeny was an unparalleled honor in their hearts.
Raul’s words filled the recruits with sublime pride; they were about to fight the Emperor’s enemies and xenos under the holy Primarch’s gaze.
The "Imperial Truth" provided ground fire support, eliminating the Titan Empire anti-air positions on Diana to ensure a safe landing for the troops.
"Landing imminent, prepare for combat." As the cabin shook, the pilot’s voice announced their approach, signaling the troops to ready themselves for battle.
"Get ready, lads! For the Emperor, burn the xenos!" Raul rallied the high-spirited recruits as the cabin doors slowly opened after a jolt, and all the soldiers rushed out, prepared to unleash the Emperor’s wrath with their lasguns.
After disembarking, the infantry quickly took cover behind armored firepower.
"Target locked! Location uploaded to combat terminals." As the armored units locked onto their targets, they uploaded the coordinates, allowing all friendly units to strike with precision.
Upon receiving the enemy’s positions, the Imperial troops immediately launched a barrage of lasgun and artillery fire.
The Fire Warriors barely had time to react before they were obliterated by the precise firepower.
"What’s with these human troops? How is their firepower so terrifying?"
A Titan Empire Hammerhead tank commander stared at the human forces before him; these units were on a completely different level compared to the Moers local troops they had been fighting.
Though he couldn’t understand the humans’ newfound strength, he aimed his Hammerhead’s railgun at a "Leman Russ" tank ahead. Just as he was about to fire, a sudden shell pierced straight through his vehicle.
"Enemy armored target confirmed destroyed!" In the Fourth Company, Fifth Armored Platoon’s Sicaran tank, Zhang Yongqiang, the commander, addressed his gunner after the kill.
"Roger, using a heavy tank against a light one is pure joy," the gunner replied.
"Watch out, the Titans’ battlesuits are here," Zhang Yongqiang observed several humanoid figures suddenly appearing in the sky through his viewport.
"Can you hit them?" he asked.
"Of course, the autocannon can definitely get them," the gunner confidently replied, aiming the turret at the Titan Empire’s battlesuits and firing.
As the Sicaran’s battle cannon roared, the Titan Empire’s XV8 "Crisis" suits in the sky were instantly shredded into fragments by the autocannon shells.
"Confirmed kill!"
Watching the disintegrated battlesuit in the air, Zhang Yongqiang addressed the gunner.
Under the assault of the Traversers and mortal auxiliaries, the Titans entrenched on Diana finally felt the terror of the Human Empire.
This was a type of combat they had never experienced. The Titans, long accustomed to fighting the Moers Guard, were utterly bewildered by the sudden brutality.
One by one, Titan Empire positions were wiped out; Fire Warriors were gunned down by lasguns and explosive shells, and their armored forces stood no chance against the Traversers’ armored firepower.
Any Titan Empire armor daring to appear in the Traversers’ crosshairs rarely survived a minute; the Sicaran’s autocannon would swiftly dispatch them at the moment of appearance.
The operation against the Titan Empire forces on Diana lasted less than an hour; under the combined assault of Traversers and auxiliaries, the Titans were powerless to resist.
