Qin Luo had just stepped out of the lobby when the women swarmed toward him.

"Little handsome, long time no see! You're looking more and more dashing."

"Come here, let sister touch your face and see if your skin is still as smooth as it used to be."

"How come you haven't gained any weight at all? Is that vixen Li mistreating you? Come back with me; I guarantee I'll feed you until you're plump and healthy."

"Qin Luo, I've gained a few pounds lately. It’s driving me crazy. Do you have any way to help me lose it?"

---

These women were regulars at Qingcheng International and were quite familiar with Qin Luo, which was why they spoke so freely. The more brazen ones would even try to take advantage of him with a few touches.

Li Qingcheng jumped up from the sofa and, like a mother hen shielding her chicks, blocked Qin Luo behind her. She scolded, "You lot of female hooligans, behave yourselves! Keep your hands to yourselves instead of taking advantage of our Qin Luo. Be careful or I’ll start charging you for it."

She then turned to Qin Luo and said, "Little brother, come here, I have something to discuss with you."

With that, she took his arm and led him toward the third floor—her private domain.

"The vixen is in heat again. Have some mercy on our little handsome," one of the women shouted from behind, causing the others to burst into laughter.

Chen Sixuan was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine. Seeing them enter, she smiled and asked, "Are you finished with your business?"

"Finished. Now I need to interrogate this kid properly. I want to see what else he’s been hiding from me," Li Qingcheng said.

She dragged Qin Luo onto the sofa, placed a knee on his thigh, leaned forward, and brought her beautiful face close to his. "You know that little heiress?"

"I do," Qin Luo nodded.

"What is your relationship?" Li Qingcheng asked, satisfied with his honesty.

"She is my fiancée," Qin Luo said, feeling a bit embarrassed. In this day and age, having an arranged marriage from childhood was just plain embarrassing to talk about.

Li Qingcheng’s knee went weak, and she nearly fell into Qin Luo’s arms. "What did you say? She’s your fiancée?"

"Yes," Qin Luo nodded earnestly. "My grandfather saved her grandfather’s life, and her grandfather said that if he had a daughter, she would be the daughter-in-law of the Qin family."

Qin Luo didn't mention the part about how if he had a son, he would have to do the same; he still wanted to leave some dignity for the Wenren family.

Li Qingcheng sat there stunned for a long time, her mind racing. After a moment, she said, "That’s not right. You’re lying to me. If she’s your fiancée, why did you act like strangers when you met last time?"

"I didn't dare to acknowledge it," Qin Luo replied.

"Why?"

"I went to their house to break off the engagement," Qin Luo said.

"Break off the engagement?" Li Qingcheng was shocked once again. "Are you sick?"

"---I am not sick."

"You must be sick. Qin Luo, are you dying? Or do you have some sort of unspeakable ailment that prevents you from performing the duties of a man?" As she spoke, her seductive eyes scanned his body as if trying to locate the hidden "malady."

"I’m not sick. I’m really not," Qin Luo had to explain again. "If you don't believe me, feel for yourself."

Li Qingcheng stared into his eyes for a moment before suddenly bursting into laughter. Her charming eyebrows, sexy lips, and heaving, full bosom were enough to make a man lose his mind.

"Little brother, have you learned how to be a rogue? Which part do you want me to touch?" she asked with a lecherous grin.

"I just wanted to prove to you that I'm not sick," Qin Luo said earnestly.

"If you aren't sick, why did you run off to break the engagement?" Li Qingcheng asked indignantly.

"Maybe I just didn't like her," Qin Luo replied.

Upon hearing his answer, Li Qingcheng was stunned for a moment before she began shaking his neck violently, shouting, "You didn't like her? Just because you didn't like her, you could break the engagement? Who gave you permission? How could you do that? Where else are you going to find a bride who is as talented, beautiful, and wealthy? Once this village is gone, there’s no such shop left, do you understand? Why did you break it off? If you break it off, how will you afford to keep me and Sixuan as your mistresses?"

"------"

After venting, Li Qingcheng finally calmed down. She looked at Qin Luo seriously and asked, "Is everything you said true?"

"Do I have any reason to lie to you?" Qin Luo gave a bitter smile. He actually wished it were all a lie.

"You really don't like her?" Li Qingcheng asked, still skeptical.

Qin Luo shook his head. "I disliked her at first. But after this meeting, I feel a bit better. She isn't as overbearing as I had imagined."

"Damn it. She’s come to find you twice already, and you call that overbearing? That little heiress must be blind to have taken a fancy to a heartless man like you. Besides being a virgin, what else do you have to show for yourself?" Li Qingcheng scolded, feeling indignant on behalf of Wenren Muyue.

Qin Luo grinned bitterly. "Even if she is your VIP client, you don't have to defend her so much, do you?"

Li Qingcheng sighed. "Sigh, you silly child. You really don't understand feelings. Let me tell you the truth: for a woman like her, being willing to stop and speak to you is already a sign of being approachable. You don't understand the circles they run in."

"Do you understand?" Qin Luo asked with a chuckle. He had always wanted to ask about the relationship between Li Qingcheng and Qiu Yanmei, but every time the words reached his lips, he couldn't bring himself to ask.

If she didn't want to say, she must have her reasons.

"I don't understand either," Li Qingcheng said, the gloom passing over her face in an instant as she shook her head.

"What are you two talking about? Why don't I understand?" Chen Sixuan asked from the side.

"The little man you like has a fiancée—a little heiress who is talented, beautiful, and rich. You saw the woman who arrived in the Rolls-Royce earlier, right? That’s her. We couldn't reach her level of success even if we earned money for a lifetime," Li Qingcheng summarized in the simplest terms.

Chen Sixuan’s heart sank, but she forced a smile and said, "That’s good. In the future, when we go out to eat, we can let Qin Luo pick up the tab."

"I already broke off the engagement," Qin Luo explained.

"Breaking it off is useless," Li Qingcheng pouted. "I can tell that with that heiress's intelligence, you definitely won't be able to escape the palm of her hand."

"-------" This woman had such a vicious tongue.

Not wanting to dwell on this topic anymore, Qin Luo asked, "Is there anything going on this afternoon? If not, I’ll head back first."

"What? Do you miss your Sister Lin?"

"-----"

"If you don't, then just accompany me and Sixuan to the film set this afternoon. Sixuan is shooting a product commercial for us today. You can come and offer some advice. After all, the company is yours, too; you should contribute some suggestions," Li Qingcheng said.

Qin Luo thought about it and realized there was nothing pressing back home, so he decided to stay and accompany them to the set.

"Can you get up now?" Qin Luo asked, looking up at Li Qingcheng.

"What? Is it uncomfortable being pressed down?" Li Qingcheng knelt with one knee on his lap, smiling playfully.

"No. You're exposing yourself," Qin Luo said, gesturing to the expanse of bare skin showing.

Li Qingcheng was startled at first, but then she deliberately pushed her chest out even further toward Qin Luo. "I'm going to be your mistress anyway. Just consider this a preliminary investment."

******************************

Just as Wenren Muyue returned to her office, Ma Yue burst in again.

"Miss, Qin Zongheng is here. He wants to see you." Ma Yue reported with a look of urgency. She knew exactly what his purpose for visiting was.

"Oh. Let him in," Wenren Muyue said, her expression indifferent and calm.

"Miss, how will you refuse him?" Ma Yue asked with concern.

"Refuse? Why would I refuse?" Wenren Muyue toyed with a fruit knife in her hand. "Since he wants me to attend his grandfather’s eightieth birthday banquet, I’ll just accept."

"Miss, you’re going to agree?" Ma Yue was shocked. If she did, the Wenren family would inevitably be swallowed up by the Qin family in the future.

"I am only attending a birthday banquet; it has nothing to do with other matters," Wenren Muyue said. "Go and invite him in."

"Yes, Miss." Ma Yue turned and left, deeply confused. The thoughts of her mistress were not something an ordinary person could fathom.

Qin Zongheng entered alone, dressed in a low-key but exquisitely tailored suit, wearing Hermes glasses. He looked fashionable and relaxed. From a distance, he appeared to be nothing more than a wealthy young heir; no one would suspect that this harmless, gentle-looking man was the "Master of Wisdom," Qin Zongheng, who was famous throughout Yanjing.

"The ideal work schedule is to rest seven days a month. Muyue, you are working too hard," Qin Zongheng said as he took off his glasses, revealing warm, deep eyes, and looked at Wenren Muyue with affection.

"There is too much to do. I can't stay idle," Wenren Muyue did not stand up to greet him. She pointed to the sofa opposite her, signaling for him to sit.

The man didn't sit on the sofa near the door; instead, he pulled up a chair directly opposite Wenren Muyue. That was a chair usually reserved for subordinates who occasionally came in to report on their work.

From this simple action, it was clear that he was a man who did not play by the rules and did not like to be controlled.

Qin Zongheng placed his hands on Wenren Muyue’s large, pristine desk, his fingers interlaced. When he spoke to people, his eyes were sincere and focused. It made the other person feel valued without coming across as aggressive or lecherous.

"Those who labor with their strength are governed by others; those who labor with their minds govern others. The Wenren family is full of talented people; you could always find someone to share your burdens," Qin Zongheng said.

Wenren Muyue cast a cold gaze toward him and said sharply, "Is the young master of the Qin family implying that I am stupid?"

Qin Zongheng was not intimidated by her cold, distant attitude. He remained gentle, a confident smile on his face. "Muyue, you know that’s not what I meant. I just feel pained by your hard work. I don't want you to be a 'strong woman'; if you had a choice, I would prefer you to be a beloved piece of ornamental porcelain."

"Thank you. I am who I am. I won't change for anyone, and I can't be changed," Wenren Muyue said coldly. "What is the purpose of your visit, Young Master?"

Qin Zongheng knew she wanted to change the subject, but he wasn't in a hurry. He smiled and said, "Didn't Xiao Zhao tell you? It’s my grandfather’s eightieth birthday in a few days, and I wanted to invite you to attend. You know that among the younger generation, my grandfather admires you the most. If you could go, he would be very happy."
