Ran Yu had considerable influence within the police system, so with her making the call, everything would proceed far more smoothly. There was even a chance that the results of the investigation would be out before Chen Sixuan boarded her flight.

The woman in red, seeing someone calling the police, finally began to panic. If she were taken in by the police, her profession would be exposed. And once that happened, her current role as the "rich wife" would be unmasked as well.

"Help! Help! Someone is assaulting me!" The woman in red shouted loudly to the crowd gathering on the roadside.

Since this was a main road, many people had already come over to watch the commotion. The onlookers watched with amused faces, pointing and whispering. Some even took out their phones to film, ready to boast later or post the footage to some forum for gossip. "A group of beauties beating up a beauty"—wasn’t that an irresistible headline?

The woman in red overestimated the morality of the crowd; not every place had its own "justice hero." Perhaps in America, there were still people dreaming of playing that role, but in China such "foolish kids" were nowhere to be found.

Seeing that no one was stepping forward, the woman pinned her hopes on the black minivan up ahead.

"Hey, help! Third Brother, save me!" She waved and shouted toward the van, knowing they could see what was happening from the rearview mirror.

No one got out. The van remained silently parked.

It was only now that the crowd began to notice the black minivan.

"Who is this 'Third Brother'?" Li Qingcheng asked, staring in the van’s direction.

"I can’t tell you."

"Someone will make you talk," Li Qingcheng replied coldly, glancing at her before dropping the matter.

"I’ll go take a look," Qin Luo said, eyeing the van whose interior was still hidden from view.

Li Qingcheng squeezed his hand. "Silly brother, if you chase after them, they’ll just drive off. How can your two legs outrun four wheels?"

Inside the van, the long-haired man carrying a camera looked at the bald man in the passenger seat. "Third Brother, what should we do? Should we go back and grab her? If they take her to the police, things will get bad."

"Wait," the bald man replied.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"San’er, is everything taken care of?" came a man’s confident voice on the other end.

"Boss, things got messed up. The decoy we hired didn’t get a chance to approach Chen Sixuan. Now she’s surrounded by them," the bald man reported, his tone cautious.

"Useless," the man’s voice rose sharply. "You can’t even handle such a trivial matter. Why do I keep you around?"

"Sorry, boss," the bald man said nervously. "Should we go back and grab her? I’m worried they’ll call the police."

After a moment’s silence, the boss on the phone said, "No, don’t make the situation bigger. San’er, you’ll take the fall for this. Say you had a personal grievance with Chen Sixuan. I’ll arrange for someone to speak to the police on your behalf, get you out later."

"Yes, boss," the bald man replied. After hanging up, he glanced at the scene through the rearview mirror, then said in a heavy voice, "Drive."

The scrawny young man at the wheel started the van and sped away from the scene.

"Third Brother! You can’t leave! Third Brother, you have to save me!" The woman’s screams grew hoarse as the van disappeared down the street and melted into the traffic.

Only when the van turned at the next intersection and vanished did the woman finally break down, covering her face and sobbing uncontrollably.

She knew she’d been abandoned.

She had always been ready to act as a pawn, but when reality struck, the pain was overwhelming.

She was human, after all!

Soon, the police arrived. A handsome young man in plain clothes jumped out of the squad car and hurried over to Ran Yu, smiling. "Sister Ran, what’s the emergency?"

Ran Yu pointed at the woman in red. "We suspect she was hired to smear a celebrity’s reputation. Bring her in, investigate, and find out who’s pulling the strings."

The young officer glanced at the woman in red and grinned. "Don’t worry, Sister Ran. I won’t let you down."

"All right, get to work," Ran Yu waved him off.

"Sure thing. Goodbye, Sister Ran. Call me anytime," he said, then signaled to two uniformed officers who came over and took the woman from Qin Luo.

"Ran Yu, who was that man? He’s so respectful—like a son taking orders from his mother," one of the women teased.

"You and your nonsense. He’s just a friend from my neighborhood," Ran Yu shot back, giving the buxom woman a look.

"If dogs could spit out ivory, I’d go home and raise a few myself," the woman retorted with a laugh.

As the excitement faded, the crowd gradually dispersed.

"Sixuan, are you all right?" Li Qingcheng asked, coming over.

"I’m fine," Chen Sixuan replied softly, her eyes full of vulnerability. "When I entered this industry, I braced myself for the worst. I’d heard of things like this happening to my seniors and felt sorry for them, but I never thought it would happen to me. I really don’t know that woman."

"I know. Of course you don’t," Li Qingcheng said. "It’s obvious she was sent by someone."

"But who would do that? I haven’t made any trouble in Beijing," Chen Sixuan asked.

Li Qingcheng rolled her eyes helplessly. "You just turned someone down. How could you not have made trouble?"

"Ah? Him?"

"Quite possibly," Li Qingcheng nodded. "Sixuan, you have to be careful when you get back. Avoid any contact with them if you can."

"I will. They wouldn’t dare act recklessly in Taiwan," Chen Sixuan replied.

"Good. Your flight’s at five in the afternoon. Until then, don’t wander off. Later, Qin Luo and I will take you to the airport ourselves."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it," Chen Sixuan said, looking gratefully at Qin Luo.

"Heh, our little hero saved the beauty again today. That’s the second time you’ve rescued the ‘Queen of Beautiful Legs,’ right? Sixuan, you might really have to give yourself to him as thanks!"

"Exactly! If you think it’s too soon, you could at least let him touch those gorgeous legs. Men need encouragement, you know. If he never gets any reward, who’ll help you next time?"

"Qin Luo, go on, give them a feel. Don’t be shy, Sixuan won’t slap you. She’s grateful you blocked those two heavy blows for her."

The women, always eager for mischief, egged him on from the sidelines.

"Is that really okay?" Qin Luo sneaked a glance at Chen Sixuan’s beautiful legs, uncertainty in his voice.

Such stunning legs were certainly tempting. It would surely feel incredible to touch them. He regretted not taking the opportunity during his last treatment session—perhaps he’d been too nervous then.

"What’s wrong with it? If we say you can, you can. We’ve got your back," the women laughed.

Li Qingcheng noticed Chen Sixuan standing there, cheeks flushed, eyes glistening like dewdrops, and found it rather unbelievable. As an entertainer, Chen Sixuan should have been used to scenes like this. Why was she suddenly acting like a shy newcomer?

Could it be she had feelings for Qin Luo?

Li Qingcheng looked at Qin Luo, who was still playing dumb, and couldn’t help but feel amused. Has she really fallen for this fool? If only she knew his true nature—she’d regret it instantly.

For Chen Sixuan’s safety, Qin Luo and Li Qingcheng personally escorted her to the airport. The three of them chatted in the departure hall until the boarding announcement sounded.

Chen Sixuan turned to Qin Luo. "Mr. Qin, I’d like to speak with you privately."

Li Qingcheng waved her off. "Go ahead, say what you need to say and get it done. I’m off for a coffee. I won’t come back to see you off."

With that, she turned and left.

"Mr. Qin, thank you so much. You’ve saved me twice now, and I really don’t know how to thank you. This is just a small token of my appreciation—please accept it." Chen Sixuan took a thick envelope from her LV bag and handed it to Qin Luo.

"You’ve already thanked me," Qin Luo replied with a smile.

"Have I?"

"Of course. You said it many times, and you even treated me to a delicious meal," he said, pushing the envelope back into her hands.

Chen Sixuan’s eyes sparkled as she gazed at him. After a long moment, and only when his pale face flushed a rosy pink, she said, "All right, I won’t insist. If you ever have the chance, you must visit me in Taiwan. The scenery is beautiful and there are lots of lovely women. I can introduce you to a few."

"All right," Qin Luo replied awkwardly.

"You’re such a cute little brother," Chen Sixuan giggled, suddenly leaning forward and planting a quick kiss on his cheek.

You know, tall women have a high success rate when they want to steal a kiss.

Before Qin Luo could react, a faint O-shaped lip print had appeared on his right cheek.

He stood there, bewildered, his smile still frozen on his face.

"Why did she kiss me? What right does she have to kiss me?"

Standing at the boarding gate with her suitcase, Chen Sixuan waved to him. "Don’t forget—be sure to visit me in Taiwan if you can. I’ll come see you in Beijing if I have the chance!"

With her tall, long-legged figure and radiant smile, Chen Sixuan was breathtakingly beautiful at that moment, standing out in the bustling crowd.

Only when her figure disappeared at the gate did Qin Luo lower his head to look at himself.

A cute little brother? Other than being flexible, there was nothing special about him.

This day was one Qin Luo would always remember.

In all his twenty-odd years in this world, except for his mother, this was the first time a woman had kissed his ever-handsome and never-surpassed right cheek.
