We followed Lisa’s graceful figure into the neon-drenched bar. Before our eyes, men and women were twisting their bodies wantonly—in the aisles, on the dance floor, and even atop the booth tables—letting off the stresses of the day amidst the decadent music pumped out by the DJ.

"Hello, do you have a reservation?"

A young man in a crisp suit intercepted us at the entrance passage. He was clearly a staff member.

"No..." Old Liao and I didn't frequent such places, so we weren't well-versed in the unspoken rules.

"I’m sorry, but we’re at full capacity tonight. As you can see, if you don't have a booth booked, I’m afraid you’ll have to leave."

The man wore a professional smile that flickered with a hint of pity, his body angled as if to usher us back out the door.

I glanced ahead at Lisa, whose sequined dress was still visible in the distance, and had a sudden inspiration. "We’re here to meet a friend. That woman in the sequined dress ahead—she’s our friend, and she has a booth."

I pointed toward Lisa’s retreating back. The staff member turned to look, then asked with a hint of suspicion, "Sister Lisa?"

Seeing me nod, he quickly followed, tapping her on the shoulder.

The beauty glanced back with a smile, her almond eyes curving. She exchanged a few words with the man, gesturing toward us during their conversation.

"Damn, I didn't think he’d actually ask. We’re going to get kicked out for sure..." Old Liao and I turned to head for the exit, figuring we’d just wait outside for Lisa.

"Hey, hey, hey! You two, wait a moment."

The staff member’s voice called out from behind. We turned around, puzzled.

"Yes?"

"I’ve confirmed with Sister Lisa. You’re cleared to enter."

I took two steps forward and peered into the bar. Lisa was sitting on a leather sofa in a booth, one leg crossed over the other, holding a drink. She raised her glass to me with a slight tilt. A seductive, radiant smile played on her lips.

Could it be that she’s taken a shine to my handsome face?

A real man doesn't back down in such situations.

We walked over and sat in her booth. The others present were gathered in small groups, clinking glasses and whispering. It seemed their party was winding down, but for someone like Lisa, the night was only just beginning.

With her male companion having just left, Lisa sat beside me, looking pure, pitiable, and utterly alone.

"Handsome, your approach for getting my number was a bit old-fashioned, don’t you think?"

She leaned in close, her voice tingling against my ear and sending waves of agitation through my mind.

I scratched my head and smiled. "Hello, President Li sent me here to handle some business for you."

The dim lights, the deafening environment, the pulsating music, and the frenzied bodies on the dance floor all melded into a sensory overload. Lisa didn't seem to hear me.

She took my phone, skillfully saved her number into my contacts, and asked, "What did you say just now?"

I sighed and clinked my glass against hers. Just as I was about to repeat myself, a young man charged in from the door.

He wore an old plaid shirt and thick-rimmed black glasses; his hair was a messy, unwashed tangle. He grabbed Lisa by the forearm and began dragging her toward the restroom corridor.

"Is something going to happen? In a place like this, a girl like her might end up on the losing end," I worried. After all, this woman’s matters were tied to the survival of my shop; if she got into real trouble, I wouldn't have a good explanation for President Li.

"Don't worry, don't worry. Didn't you see her expression? She was cold, but she didn't resist. Going to the restroom might just be a 'routine affair'..."

I remained uneasy. Leaving Old Liao with a quick "I’m going to check," I headed toward the corridor.

"Why aren't you going back to school? The teachers are looking for you—they said they’re going to expel you!" A male voice came from the end of the corridor, met only by a contemptuous, mocking laugh.

"Ha! Who do you think you are? Why are you managing my life?"

"I’m your boyfriend! How did you become like this?" The boy’s voice was filled with anger, though he kept it hushed.

"Pah! You’re nothing. You think because we slept together you’re my boyfriend? If that were the case, I’d have dozens of them! In this day and age, you play to have fun. Stop bothering me every few days. If you want to jump into bed, I might consider it."

I peeked around the corner and saw Lisa wrapping her arms around the boy’s neck, coiling around him like a water snake. She pressed her lips to his, and they began to kiss passionately right there in the corridor.

The boy then shoved her away, saying righteously, "I want you to be the way you were back at school. You’re truly disgusting now!"

"Heh, that’s just how you men are. When you’ve got me pinned down, you say 'Baby, I’ll take care of you' and 'No matter what you become, I’ll be good to you.' It’s all bullshit! Look at me now—I wear fine silks, eat whenever I want, and buy whatever bags I please. Is that something you poor students can compare to?"

With that, she left the dejected boy behind and walked toward me, swaying her hips.

This Lisa, she really is low to the bone!

However, she seemed to be walking
