Chapter 113: What Kind of Thing Is This?
The woman, sensing things were going badly, struggled even more fiercely.
“If you treat me like this, and people online find out, they’ll condemn Qingming Gu! Do you still want to hold this concert or not?!”
“I’ll have you know, I’m the vice president of the fan support club. If you don’t let me go, just wait and see what I’ll do to you!”
She spoke arrogantly, clearly intending to post the incident online.
“Unfortunately for you, you won’t get the chance to say anything online. I recorded everything you just said, just like you.”
Qingli Shen waved the voice recorder in her hand and smiled faintly at the woman.
“Who exactly are you? How dare you meddle in my brother’s affairs!”
“I get it now. You two must be involved, right?”
Raising an eyebrow, Qingli Shen looked at the obsessive fan, who was self-righteously accusing her, and sneered coldly.
“My relationship with your brother is indeed unusual—because I am his boss, Qingli Shen.”
A nearby staff member quickly handed Qingli Shen a warm towel. She wiped the dirt from her face, revealing her originally fair complexion.
The woman’s eyes widened in shock as she glared at Qingli Shen and gritted her teeth.
“You’ve been deliberately hiding this, haven’t you? Just waiting to see me humiliated? I never expected Qingli Shen to be so scheming, just like they say online!”
The woman’s words came out without hesitation, leaving Qingli Shen momentarily speechless.
“Enough. No need for more nonsense. Call the police immediately, and hand over this voice recorder as evidence.”
“If she posts anything harmful online, or if any negative rumors circulate, the police will find you first.”
The woman stared in disbelief at Qingli Shen.
“I didn’t do anything! What right do you have to detain me?!”
She struggled to escape but was eventually taken away.
Seeing Qingli Shen in such a disheveled state, Qingming Gu frowned and asked, “What happened? Why are you like this?”
“It’s nothing. The car broke down on the way, and there was an accident.”
She waved her hand and brushed the dust off her clothes, speaking lightly.
She didn’t notice the shocked gazes of those around her.
“Are you really okay?”
Qingming Gu leaned in close, nearly face to face, startling Qingli Shen for a moment. Then she waved her hand reassuringly.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. I just came to check on the concert stage setup.”
The assistant shook his head helplessly at how useless his child looked.
---
“Host, this is unusual, very unusual.”
Green Parsley teased mischievously before getting flicked on the head.
Qingming Gu naturally noticed the corgi on the ground. “Is this a new pet?”
Locking eyes with the man, Green Parsley suddenly felt exposed.
“Host, I think this Gu fellow has figured out what I really am.”
Green Parsley whispered to Qingli Shen and quietly hid behind her.
Qingming Gu narrowed his eyes, and as he straightened up, his doubt vanished instantly.
“The stage setup is mostly done. I was planning to test the sound here today.”
Walking beside Qingli Shen, Qingming Gu occasionally glanced at the well-behaved little dog trailing behind them.
“This dog of yours…”
Hearing the man speak unexpectedly, Qingli Shen felt a sudden jolt in her heart.
“What’s wrong with my little darling?”
She smiled and asked.
Green Parsley’s panicked voice echoed wildly in her mind. “Host, I told you, he definitely knows what I am!”
“Shut up!”
Qingli Shen silently commanded herself, maintaining a smile as she faced Qingming Gu.
“Nothing, just feels different.”
Qingming Gu said, then averted his gaze.
Qingli Shen looked around, and after confirming there was nothing that needed fixing, she approached the stage.
At that moment, Qingming Gu was ready to sing.
Suddenly, a group of reporters rushed toward them—more precisely, straight toward Qingli Shen.
“Ms. Shen, we heard your company is on the verge of bankruptcy. Is that true?”
“Ms. Shen, what is your relationship with Jin Chuan Xie? Miss Rong says you’re the other woman.”
“Ms. Shen, it’s said Miss Rong was so upset she was hospitalized. What is your response to this?”
Questions bombarded Qingli Shen from all sides.
She looked confused. “Wait, slow down. Explain exactly what’s going on.”
---
Seeing the confusion in her eyes, the reporters twitched their lips.
Half an hour later, after the manager heard about the reporters storming in and rushed over, he twitched his lips at the scene before him.
The reporters, who were supposed to be interviewing, were now sitting comfortably in chairs, surrounding Qingli Shen.
And they had started chatting… gossip.
“Oh, so this rumor about my bankruptcy is what this is? Tsk tsk, they really prepared thoroughly. But not only am I not bankrupt, I’ve made quite a bit recently.”
Looking at the post on the computer claiming her company was about to go under, Qingli Shen smiled cheerfully as she responded.
“The other woman rumor is just ridiculous—we only had a fight, and we’re not even divorced.”
“As for Miss Rong’s illness, I really want to see for myself. What kind of illness does she have? Which hospital is she in?”
Saying this, Qingli Shen stood up.
The reporters’ eyes lit up, thinking they had uncovered an exclusive story, and hurriedly questioned Qingli Shen.
“Ms. Shen, you seem anxious to go to the hospital. Is there some inside information?”
Smiling at the reporters’ eager eyes, Qingli Shen said, “Oh, I’m just afraid if I go too late, what if she dies?”
The reporters were instantly stunned.
The manager ushered the reporters out. Qingli Shen borrowed a car and headed toward the hospital.
But the road was far from peaceful.
“Robbery!”
Suddenly, several men appeared, wearing black veils and brandishing clearly fake daggers, suddenly blocking the middle of the road.
If Qingli Shen hadn’t reacted quickly, she would have crashed into them. There was no way they could have stood there if not.
“They don’t look very smart,” Green Parsley complained, inwardly wondering why her host was so unlucky.
Barely a day out, and so many troubles already—was she cursed?
“I think so too. But let’s get out and see.”
Sighing, Qingli Shen opened the car door and stepped out.
Three men stood opposite her. Seeing her get out, they rushed forward and surrounded her.
