[Host! Someone is ramming your car!]

The voice of Green Coriander suddenly rang out in Shen Qingli’s mind. She started, and a dog’s head that looked as though it had just woken up rubbed against her from the back seat.

[Host, when I arrived, you were busy, so I got into the car by myself. Hehehe, I didn’t scare you, did I?]

Shen Qingli glared at him. “You nearly scared me to death!”

As soon as she finished speaking, another violent impact struck from behind.

The car was rammed several times in succession. Frowning, Shen Qingli immediately pressed down on the accelerator and sped along the road.

She had taken a side road, and since it was nighttime, there were no other cars around. The vehicle behind her had not followed from the beginning; clearly, it had appeared out of nowhere halfway along the route.

Shen Qingli abruptly turned the steering wheel, sending the car directly into the rice fields beside the road. After opening up a little distance, she switched off the engine, got out, and drew her dagger. Then she turned to watch as the pursuing vehicle came closer and closer.

The disdainful voice rang out. The man in the passenger seat climbed out, his expression fierce and a firearm in his hand.

Another man emerged from the driver’s seat. His gaze was cold and ruthless, the look of someone who had made a living with his life on the line.

The man who climbed out of the back seat was no different. Anyone could see that he was a professional who often handled this sort of business.

All of them wore matching clothing. Clearly, they had been hired.

“You’re working for money, and I have money too. I can pay you double. All I want is for you to tell me the name of the person who sent you.”

Shen Qingli knew that people like them cared about nothing but money. As long as one had enough, it was possible to locate almost anyone through the right channels.

That was why she had made the offer.

“Pfft. Don’t tell me you think we’re the sort who recognize only money and no principles?”

“Little bitch, stop trying to play tricks. That dagger of yours couldn’t even cut me. Be a good girl and let us kill you.”

The second man did not take the slender woman before him seriously at all. He could have crushed her with a single slap.

As soon as he finished speaking, he raised the firearm in his hand and chambered a round.

The other three looked at the woman as though she were an idiot. Just as they turned around to return to the car, an unusual sound suddenly reached their ears.

The next moment, the second man collapsed to the ground, his weapon knocked clean out of his hand.

The night was too dark. None of them could see what had happened.

The second man was even more terrified. He had seen nothing at all. He only knew that a black shadow had swept past his hand, and then he had fallen to the ground, unable to get back up.

“What happened?”

The other three immediately drew the firearms tucked into their waistbands and aimed them at Shen Qingli.

“Big Brother, this woman is sinister. She hasn’t moved from that spot at all, yet somehow this happened to me!”

His words put the others on alert. The leader frowned.

“Enough nonsense. Just kill her!”

The three men were about to pull the triggers when, in the next instant, the weapons in their hands were also knocked away by something unseen.

Shen Qingli raised an eyebrow and patted the car. She communicated with Coriander in her mind.

“Coriander, transform into a wolf and come out.”

Green Coriander spoke excitedly. At last, he had a chance to show off his abilities!

A moment later, the four men heard a wolf’s howl coming from inside the woman’s car. In the darkness of night, it sounded especially terrifying.

The four exchanged bewildered glances. When a wolf shrouded in black vapor stepped out of the car, they were even more horrified.

“Boss, why is that wolf covered in black smoke?”

The four men spoke in panic, their voices trembling as they scrambled up from the ground.

Shen Qingli smiled faintly. With a slight movement of her fingers, several enormous carnivorous flowers burst from the earth, opening their gaping mouths before the men.

If they said they had encountered ghosts, no one would have doubted them.

A scene that belonged only in the movies had appeared right before their eyes. Anyone would have found it bizarre and terrifying.

“She really isn’t human. She’s a ghost!”

“Then I must thank you for the compliment.”

Shen Qingli smiled sweetly, deliberately making herself look even more frightening.

Faint green lights shimmered around her. Combined with her pale skin and the white dress she happened to be wearing that day, she looked like the star of a horror movie.

The four men huddled together in terror. As the approaching woman drew nearer, they began crying out for their mothers.

“Shh.”

Shen Qingli smiled slightly and raised a finger to her lips.

“If you don’t want to die, and you don’t want to follow me to hell, then answer every question I ask. Understand? Otherwise, you’ll be going to the underworld with me, this vengeful ghost.”

Seeing that they seemed to be afraid of ghosts, Shen Qingli made her voice even more ethereal.

The four rough-looking men clung to one another for comfort and hurriedly nodded.

“We understand... We understand...”

Shen Qingli smiled gently. “Good boys.”

Three of them fainted on the spot. Only the leader remained conscious, stubbornly holding himself together for the sake of his dignity.

“Tell me carefully. Who sent you to kill me?”
