Their strength was formidable...

As Little Black pressed forward, his astonishment grew. Some elite zombie corps wandered nearby, each exuding a powerful and ferocious aura.

One even passed close by him, sniffing the air, as if sensing something amiss—almost discovering his presence.

“What sharp senses…”

Little Black muttered inwardly, worried that his signature skill might be exposed and he’d lose face in front of Lin Dong’s crew.

Just as he prepared to move ahead, a voice called out from behind.

“Stop.”

“Huh?”

Turning, Little Black saw a zombie whose gaze was unusually clear, obviously possessing intelligence. This was none other than Doctor, one of Lin Dong’s three lieutenants.

Doctor, awakened in the psychic domain, was particularly sharp, having locked onto Little Black’s presence.

With the intruder detected, a troop of elite zombies came rushing over, including the elusive Little Eight and the burly Tank.

The group surrounded Little Black, their murderous intent palpable.

He’d been discovered!

Little Black felt the humiliation came too quickly—especially since Lin Dong’s zombies were indeed powerful.

“Brother, I’m one of yours.”

He hurried to explain, fearing he’d be torn apart if he delayed even a moment.

Tank eyed him curiously.

“Huh? Where’d this big black rat come from?”

“I… I’m not a big black rat.”

Little Black quickly shed his shadow form, revealing his coal-black body. “I’m called Black Shadow, but you can just call me Little Black.”

Tank stared at his dark appearance, still full of curiosity.

Wasn’t he just a big black rat?

Doctor spoke up.

“What are you doing here?”

“I have something important for Boss Lin Dong.”

Little Black explained.

No sooner had he finished than the zombies parted, making way for Lin Dong, whose white shirt gleamed in the night.

“What’s the matter?”

“Boss, today I saw the Tech Corporation delivering food to Snake-Eye’s territory—box after box, at least a dozen, all meat!”

Little Black exaggerated, drooling as he spoke, nearly forming a small waterfall, making his words indistinct.

“Calm yourself first.”

Lin Dong curled his lips, watching his pathetic display.

“Yes, yes!”

Little Black nodded vigorously, wiped his mouth, and continued.

“Snake-Eye’s subordinates are gathering, they’re definitely planning to attack you!”

“What? How dare they target my boss?”

Tank was furious upon hearing this, thinking that wretched serpent must have nerves of steel.

The elite corps behind him howled in response.

To them, Lin Dong was a living legend.

They longed to charge over and tear Snake-Eye and his followers to pieces!

Lin Dong pressed further.

“What’s their lineup?”

“Snake-Eye and his trusted lieutenants—Michelin and Spider Woman—with a horde of thirty thousand zombies, at least two thousand elites, plus a multitude of bred mutant beast-serpents.”

“Oh… That’s a lot!”

Even Tank grasped the situation: their own territory had a horde of ten thousand, but with Boss’s recent nurturing, many had evolved. The elite count had nearly reached three thousand, with five hundred in the virus-injected elite corps.

But their numbers still fell short.

“Snake-Eye’s colluding with Tech Corporation; when the time comes, they’ll act as well. Their strength is considerable. And… Snake-Eye has evolved into an A-class corpse king, awakening the ability ‘Illusion Space’—strange and immensely powerful!”

Little Black went on.

Tank was unconvinced.

“How powerful can he really be? Why are you talking him up?”

“I’m not exaggerating—I was beaten by him before.”

“Uh…”

Tank was momentarily speechless at Little Black’s ‘honest’ admission.

Clearly, this was a formidable opponent…

Two grades above the last Red-Faced Corpse King.

All eyes turned to Lin Dong, awaiting his command.

Once he gave the order, regardless of the enemy, they would charge forward, fearlessly.

Lin Dong pondered for a moment, then said,

“Tomorrow, we’ll wipe them out.”

“Roar—”

The zombies bellowed, roused with excitement.

Little Eight grinned, showing two rows of sharp fangs—thinking that Boss never disappoints with his decisions.

Their territory had been quiet for far too long; they needed a fierce battle.

Tank was equally exhilarated.

He believed the feud with Snake-Eye stemmed from himself.

Tomorrow, they’d settle it!

Little Black looked around at the zombies, amazed by their fighting spirit. Lin Dong’s crew was far stronger than he’d imagined; tomorrow would be a brutal fight.

With the decision made, the zombies dispersed. After discussion, Little Black and his five thousand subordinates, including a thousand elites, would join the fray.

Snake-Eye would never expect the two to unite.

He’d be in for a ‘surprise’.

But Lin Dong had another ‘surprise’ in mind besides teaming up with Little Black. He intended to call in reinforcements, so he returned to his room, sat on the sofa, and sent a message to Cheng Luoyi.

“I have a golden opportunity for you.”

“Oh?”

Cheng Luoyi replied quickly upon hearing of a good opportunity.

“What is it?”

“Tomorrow, you can go zombie hunting.”

Lin Dong answered.

But after a while, Cheng Luoyi hadn’t replied.

She was baffled—how could killing zombies be considered a good opportunity?

In this world, zombies were anything but rare.

They certainly weren’t endangered creatures.

Lin Dong added,

“Tomorrow we hunt the A-class corpse king, Snake-Eye. You can search his territory for supplies.”

Cheng Luoyi knew of that corpse king. His domain had resources—a squad once found a cache of preserved crop seeds, but before they could retrieve them, Snake-Eye wiped them out.

No one had dared go back since.

Crop seeds were a precious resource for humanity.

“Oh, that’s worth a visit…”

Cheng Luoyi briefly stated her intentions.

Lin Dong had no objections.

He encouraged her to bring people and search boldly.

If trouble arose, he’d step in.

They settled the matter.

Lin Dong put away his phone and gazed out the window. It was already dawn—the darkest hour of night. Outside, zombies still howled, slaughtering ceaselessly…

The next day.

Heavy clouds obscured the sun, leaving the sky gloomy and gray—no wind, no rain, no sunlight.

“Caw—caw—caw—”

Several jet-black crows screeched, darting across the sky.

Below, the streets lay in chaos.

At the front stood Lin Dong, with his three lieutenants behind him, followed by a horde of ten thousand zombies, densely packed in a hundred-meter-long column. Their terrifying faces radiated murderous intent, all brimming with excitement.

They had reached the edge of their territory, not far from Snake-Eye’s domain.

They awaited Lin Dong’s command.

Once given, the horde would storm Snake-Eye’s lair.

But Lin Dong instructed,

“Stay here. I’ll go ahead and scout…”
