Chapter Seventy-Six: The Outcome Is Decided
Sun Xiaoqiang, fierce as a tiger, leapt forward and landed another punch on Snake Eyes’ chest. With a dull thud, Snake Eyes was sent flying more than ten meters back.
“Damn it! This idiot!” Snake Eyes muttered through gritted teeth, clearly enraged. Sun Xiaoqiang’s abilities truly countered him.
Yang Hao grew anxious at the sight. The opposing side not only had tricky corpse kings like Xiao Ba and Shadow, but also Sun Xiaoqiang, a figure from Shelter No. 002.
He glanced around and saw that Lin Dong had shattered the water prison. Pale blue particles drifted around him as he continued to approach, each step bringing an oppressive aura that swept across the field.
Not far away, a slender girl appeared, carrying a large blade on her shoulder, walking unhurriedly toward them.
“Damn!” Yang Hao cursed under his breath. The enemy lineup was simply overwhelming...
He had hoped to profit as a bystander, but now realized he faced a great shark ready to devour everything.
“It’s over... Everything is over!”
Meanwhile, Xue Ting and the awakened ones stood as if facing a deadly foe, their gazes fixed on Lin Dong, not daring to be distracted.
“Everyone, be careful. In battle, wrap yourselves in energy to avoid his strange attacks.”
“Yes!” The surrounding few responded quickly.
Energy surged around them, their auras growing more intense. Some formed icy armor, radiating a chilling cold. Others had faintly flickering flames, exuding a scorching heat.
At this desperate hour, everyone gave their all. Yet this state was extremely draining, and could not last long.
“They’re rather clever...” Lin Dong murmured, his eyes suddenly veiled in red light as he unleashed the full force of the Corpse Domain.
A crushing pressure swept out in all directions, extending nearly a hundred meters. The debris on the street—trash cans, lampposts, scrapped vehicles—were instantly shattered, collapsing as if dismantled by unseen hands.
Destruction descended.
Xue Ting and her companions seemed caught in a storm, hair flying, faces grim as they struggled desperately to resist, knowing that a moment’s lapse would see them torn apart by the overwhelming force.
“It’s terrifying!”
“How does he possess such power?”
“Could it be... he’s an S-class corpse king?”
“......”
Chills ran through everyone’s scalp. They could not even imagine it. As the tall, pale figure came closer, the pressure intensified.
“I... I can’t hold on!” A fire-type awakened one roared, unleashing his last reserves of energy. Flames erupted around him, transforming him into a man of fire.
Summoning all his strength, he punched at Lin Dong.
Lin Dong did not dodge. He raised his hand and met the attack head-on, utterly dominant—within the Corpse Domain, he was the true master.
“Boom!”
A thunderous crash echoed. The fire-type awakened one’s body exploded, flames extinguished, his life ending in a final, dazzling blaze.
A red crystal core flew out, which Lin Dong caught and swallowed.
Warm energy flowed through his limbs and bones, replenishing what was spent in maintaining the Corpse Domain.
“Ah....”
Everyone gasped, terror peaking as death loomed near. Some lost all will to resist, giving up entirely.
Lin Dong rarely launched such a fierce assault. His figure flickered, appearing beside another awakened one, shattering their skull with a single blow.
He harvested lives relentlessly, like a cold killing machine.
With teammates falling one after another, Xue Ting felt a deep sense of helplessness.
She looked around and saw that Xiao Hei and the zombies had slaughtered the humans behind her, and on the right, Xiao Ba continued his rampage.
The screams and wails mingled with eerie laughter, heightening the horror.
When Xue Ting turned back, she found a handsome face before her—those red eyes were striking.
A large hand reached out, and darkness swallowed her consciousness.
Xue Ting’s corpse fell to the ground.
Lin Dong held a pale blue crystal core, which he slipped into his mouth.
It melted instantly, sweet and pure, nourishing his body. Lin Dong savored the sensation.
The awakened humans were nearly all slain.
Lin Dong withdrew the Corpse Domain, the red glow in his eyes dimming, returning to a calm demeanor.
At that moment, Snake Eyes was still being pummeled by Sun Xiaoqiang. As a psychic-type awakened one, his physical strength could not match Sun Xiaoqiang in berserk mode.
“To think I was beaten by an idiot!”
Snake Eyes was indignant, glancing around, considering escape, but he soon realized elite zombies were closing in—Shadow, Xiao Ba, Tank, and Doctor, who had just finished off Michelin and were now supporting here.
In the sky, blood-red-eyed crows circled. Some had bloodied beaks, carrying half a snake’s body.
After Cheng Luoyi dealt with the Spider Lady, these crows devoured the pythons as if they were spicy snacks.
Despair filled Snake Eyes’ heart. His men were gone, and Lin Dong’s forces surrounded him from every side. Once a dominant power, now he had nowhere to run.
Lin Dong’s silhouette approached.
Snake Eyes’ liver quivered; the shadow of Lin Dong lingered in his mind.
“It seems... I must use my last trump card!”
Snake Eyes struggled for a moment, then made his decision. He bent his knees, and with a thud, knelt on the ground, bowing his head low.
“Don’t kill me! Don’t kill me! I surrender, from now on... I pledge allegiance to you.”
“Oh.” Lin Dong nodded.
Snake Eyes rejoiced at his acceptance. He glanced up and saw Sun Xiaoqiang, Shadow, and the zombies standing behind Lin Dong, no longer attacking him.
The old saying held true...
Where there’s life, there’s hope.
Zombies have endless life—so long as one survives, there will always be a day to rise again. A great zombie must know when to yield and when to prevail.
“I promise to follow you faithfully, never to betray you,” Snake Eyes declared again.
“Perhaps in your next life,” Lin Dong replied suddenly.
“Roar—”
The zombies behind him let out a thunderous howl, surging forward in a wave, soon overwhelming Snake Eyes.
He was devoured by the horde, like a drowning man grasping desperately upward, likely cursing Lin Dong in his final moments... you bastard!
But soon, Snake Eyes’ hand fell limp, his life extinguished.
Lin Dong turned away, no longer watching.
In a corner, a human crouched with hands over his head, face buried in his knees, trembling like a fledgling in the cold wind.
